Merrie England is a new supplement for the RuneQuest game.
By the very nature of RuneQuest and Basic Roleplaying,
it is also compatible with the BRP system and would be a companion piece to both Stupor Mundi and Val-de-Loupe.
What does Merrie England consist of?
The first supplement is Merrie England:Age of Eleanor and covers the period of the Angevin Kings of England, between Henry II and Henry III.
You can buy Merrie England at Leisure Games and direct using the following links:
Are any future supplements planned?
If Merrie England:Age of Eleanor goes well, I plan to bring out a series supporting it. The planned supplements, in no particular order, are:
- Merrie England: Heaven and Hell - This will cover demons and angels, Hell and Heaven, good and bad, magic and demonology. Here you will find demonic cults and abilities, sample demonologists and sample angels and demons.
- Merrie England: Whitlingthorpe - A campaign pack covering the hamlet of Whitlingthorpe in the Midlands.
- Merrie England: Under the Greenwood - The outlaw supplement, this will cover playing an outlaw, Forest Law, outlaw bands, sample outlaws and more.
- Merrie England: The Court of Love - Troubadours, minstrels, noble deeds, courtly love, chivalry and a vertiable new Camelot in the south of France.
- Merrie England: The Crusades - This will cover the Second and Third Crusades, the Knightly Orders, Crusader States and new professions. It will not be overly heavy on historical detail but should contain enough to have a ball in the Holy Land.
- Merrie England: War in France - Henry II, Richard I and John I all fought in France, fighting each other, the Kings of France and various subject barons. This will cover the main campaigns and allow your stout Englishmen to teach those Frenchies a lesson, or to allow the good Frenchmen to reclaim lands in the name of the King of France.
- Merrie England: The Rest of the World - Why stop at England, France and the Holy Country? There are lots more to do in this period. The Reconquista is freeing Iberia from the Moors, The Cathar Crusade is wiping the Cathar heresy from the face of southern France, the Mongols are rising in the East and a new Holy Roman Emperor, Frederick II, is flexing his political muscles.
